14.02.08 - Current problems

Hello everyone

If I have a look at the news box on the website I don't see many positive topics :) The last few days weren't very successful for me and the service. Many problems made it sometimes impossible to use the service. That's why I decided to implement a new feature in the backend to improve the performance. It didn't work as it should in the beginning but I'm sure it will in the next few days.
Over 12 thousand users per day need a lot of ressources. The last configuration was quite not optimal. All files were stored on one server and all others servers had to access them through the internet/network. So the main server was the bottle neck of the whole service. Now I made every server independent. So they can run at their normal performance. But anyway I don't want to start a tech talk here. Just as a bit of information for the users who tried convert their files in the last few hours/days and sadly failed.

So let's hope the best for the future and sorry again for the inconveniences.

Greetings
Pascal

First off, I understand, things like this happen, its not your fault, its usually the program or the server. By the way I love using this. Keep up the good work

I am also having problems with the download. The popup box will say "Internet Explorer cannot download 120318398828995550Cyclone.3g2 from s3.mediaconverter.org

Then it says that "the requested site is either unavailable or not found"

Here is the link:
http://s3.mediaconverter.org/converted/12031839882899550Cyclone.3g2

And also, when I just click the "download now" link, it also takes me to an error page. I hope I gave enough information.

Hi,

Whilst we all appreciate the work that you are putting in, it would be better if you could test things properly before releasing them.

We have seen over the past few months so many instances of problems where the service has been either unusable or there have been bugs.

Going forward if you could please put in some release procedures and ensure that you test things before releasing.

I always try to test the things as good as I can but sometimes thing happen only under heavy usage. So it's sometimes really difficult to make it work 100%. As I haven't got a test platform I often have to test it on the "productive" system.

I *love* your service, it's helped me so much! I'm just wondering if there is any way to convert the mp3s in stereo? They're coming in as mono.

I really appreciate your site, thank you so much for offering it!

YES! I can download my videos from LiveVideo! I tried to find others, I downloaded one, but it takes one hour just to grab, not download...
I just click on the video. I never right click or anything and it downloads...
(Downloads to my PC, I dont watch it)

Is anyone else having this problem?

The "audio only" feature converts the files to MPG instead of MP3. This has been going on for over a week.

Pascal, thank you for this site.
